Taketh – "Freakshow"

Taketh certainly do not present their debut album "Freakshow" in a way anticipated by
the title name. This Swedish metal band plays melodic death metal with influences from the
death and trash metal genres. After the brief intro-track the opening song, fittingly named
"Evil", blasts out thundering through the speakers like a steamroller. The epic track "A New Day" is the only real surprize offered on this album though. All 14 songs on this album have class, are diversified and are catchy. There are often loosening aucustic parts recognized that are very well suited for songs in question. Taketh do their thing in their own way without sounding like the next band in line. I am convinced that we will hear alot more from Sweden in the near future. Until then "Freakshow" is a great alternative to kill some time with while waiting on the next album.
